Earthquake Fund Raising Special Edition

Dear CAHON members,

Over the TV screen and the Internet, we have witnessed the scale of destruction from last week's earthquake in Sichuan Province, and the sheer pain and profound sympathy it has caused to all of us. We know that many of you have already made financial donations to the victims of this tragedy via your favorite charity and organizations. Some of you have even registered your home to provide shelter for children with lost parents and lost homes. To represent our organization, we, the Board of Directors of the Chinese American Hematologist and Oncologist Network (CAHON), are soliciting financial donations from members who are yet to select the best channel to do so to donate via CAHON. As millions have lost everything they had in this natural disaster, every dollar is helpful to provide much needed foods, water, medical supplies, temporary shelter, and to help the millions of people to rebuild their lost homes.

In addition to previous donations, the CAHON board members have pledged over two thousand dollars via CAHON. Any amount you donate, large or small, will help the victims greatly. After donations are collected, we will transfer the fund directly to the Chinese Red Cross Society with the name of all individuals who have contributed to the fund.

We will report to you our Sichuan earthquake relieving effort in our upcoming Annual Meeting in Chicago on May 31, 2008 (flyer attached). Please join us urgently to help the parents who have lost their children, the children who have lost their parents, and the millions who have lost their home to rebuild their dreams.
