2025 CAHON President-Elect Nominating Process

Dear CAHON Members,

As promised in 2023, we would like to provide you with an update on the nomination process for the 2025 President-Elect election.

Since 2019, in accordance with our bylaws, the Nominating Committee—comprised of the Board Chair-Elect, Board Chair, Immediate Past Board Chair, President, Immediate Past President, Secretary, and Chair(s) of the Membership Committee—has been responsible for recommending a slate of candidates to the Board for approval.

The Committee convened on February 19, 2025, and reviewed a comprehensive list of Executive Team members who have served from 2018 to the present. Each individual was evaluated based on a demonstrated track record of leadership, consistent membership, active participation in CAHON events, and service on committees. Additional considerations included career stage and any prior conversations regarding interest and availability for the role.

Following careful review, the Committee recommended two highly qualified candidates and one alternate to the Board. The slate was approved on March 13, 2025. The selected candidates will be officially announced tomorrow via email and social media. Voting will take place from May 1–15, 2025.

In line with CAHON’s ongoing commitment to transparency and organizational growth, the Board has also approved formal job descriptions, qualifications, and eligibility criteria for Board service. These will take effect beginning with the 2026 Board election and 2027 President-Elect election.
