The Chinese American Hematologist and Oncologist Network (CAHON) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Delong Liu to the CAHON Board of Directors.
According to the election process of CAHON Board Members, candidates may be co-nominated by at least three current members of the Board of Directors. To be elected, a candidate must receive a majority vote by the board members. Each term is three years and a Board Member may serve up to two terms consecutively.
Delong Liu, MD, PhD
Dr. Delong Liu stands among CAHON's most distinguished leaders as both a Founding Member and President who helped establish our organization's vision and mission. His foundational leadership was instrumental in creating the thriving professional community that CAHON represents today.
As Board Chair in 2013, Dr. Liu provided visionary leadership and strategic direction that helped guide CAHON through an important phase of growth and evolution. His exceptional contributions to CAHON were first formally recognized in 2015 when he received the Outstanding Service Award for his dedicated service and leadership.
In 2023 Dr. Liu received CAHON's Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring his extraordinary impact on the organization and the oncology community. This prestigious award reflects nearly two decades of transformational leadership, from his founding contributions to his ongoing influence on CAHON's mission and growth.
Beyond his leadership roles within CAHON, Dr. Liu serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Hematology and Oncology, the official journal of CAHON. In this capacity, he continues to advance the organization's mission by overseeing the publication of cutting-edge research and clinical insights that benefit the broader oncology community.
Dr. Liu's legacy represents the very best of CAHON's values and commitment to excellence, creating a foundation that will continue to benefit the oncology community for years to come.
